Speaker: Christopher Tuite, Senior Advisor, Carbon Fund at Conservation International

In spite of considerable discussion in a range of international fora and significant investment, the actual number of verified REDD projects is still limited and there is uncertainty about the market for REDD credits. The talk will present experiences and issues related to Conservation International’s REDD program which has now successfully verified three REDD projects in Peru and Madagascar.

Chris Tuite obtained his Ph.D in ecology from Bristol University and has also studied finance and economics. He and has worked for a range of international conservation organisations including The Wildfowl Trust, The US Nature Conservancy, International Fund for Animal welfare, the Greenbelt Movement and most recently Conservation International. For the last five years he has worked for CI’s Ecosystem Finance and Markets program, focusing on the implementation of REDD projects.
